I am delighted to announce that the group show, The Possibilities of Touch, has been awarded Arts Council England Lottery Funding.

The show is open at Safehouse 1 and 2 from Thursday June 10 to Sunday June 13, 12-8pm.

Booking is not necessary, however we may limit numbers at busy times to ensure that we are Covid safe.

With that in mind we are not having one opening, instead we will be there to welcome you from 6-8pm Thursday – Saturday.

Our need to touch has become more apparent than ever: its possibilities, its limits, and the way our imaginations respond to what we cannot touch, is a particularly potent theme in a climate where touch and its traces have become fraught and loaded.

Taking this idea as its starting point, the show is not only a response to the challenges of graduating during the pandemic, but also a step towards rethinking ways in which new interactions can take place.

Each of the artists engages with tactility, either through choice of materials, subject matter or medium.

The Safehouse spaces were chosen because these are atmospheric spaces with a tactility all of their own. They are part of Peckham’s Copeland Park which includes the Bussey Building and are easily reached from Peckham Rye Station or the buses on Rye Lane.

137 – 139 Consort Road, SE15 3SN
